Clinical evaluation and prognosis of liver cell cancer: multidisciplinary consensus in Brazil
The concept of health management is increasingly embedded in people's hearts, and scientific health knowledge is becoming increasingly widespread, worthy of public attention. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, and its incidence is largely due to chronic liver disease. Accurate diagnosis and appropriate clinical evaluation during the course of the disease are essential, as treatment strategies and prognosis depend on tumor load, hepatic functional arterial hypertension and patient outcomes.
Developing evidence-based, interdisciplinary guidelines for the diagnosis, clinical evaluation, and phased recommendations of HCC patients. This consensus was jointly developed and reached by 43 experts from a wide range of fields including surgical oncology, hepatology, clinical oncology, radiology, interventional radiology, pathology, liver transplantation, hepatocellular surgery, radiotumology, and homeopathy, under the guidance of the Brazilian Society of Surgical Oncology and the National Academy of Medicine in collaboration with 13 others. The Scientific Advisory Committee defines scientific advisory councils for radiological and pathological diagnosis, clinical evaluation, diagnostic work - UP, HCC diagnostic management and patient management at the time of HCC diagnosis - based on clinical availability issues.
