The number of deaths defined in Slovenia: research on the impact of death data quality and the burde
An international medical study has brought new findings and related results have important reference value for disease control. Death Defined refers to deaths caused by reasons that are classified as non-specific or lack sufficient information. These causes reduce the accuracy of death statistics.
In Slovenia, from 2010 to 2021, the most common definition of death Defined (Death Defined) and its demographic and regional distribution patterns were studied. According to the ICD-10 coding system, out of a total of 243,166 deaths from GBD in 2019, 53,020 deaths (21. 8%) were attributed to IDDs.
Among these, the proportion of female IDDs is relatively high, the older the population, the higher the proportion of IDDs. Heart failure is the most common IDD, showing a significantly higher proportion of female deaths. Other common causes of IDD include unknown strokes, unknown respiratory infections, unknown cancers, and unknown causes of death with the code R99-code (definition and unknown death).
